Ryan Flatland is the lead simulation and controls engineer at Range Energy, where he is responsible for developing and validating the company’s core powertrain controls algorithms. Prior to Range Energy, Ryan worked at Zoox where bridged hardware and software teams, and managed complex interactions between low-level and high-level control loops to deliver smooth vehicle dynamics. In his free time, Ryan is converting a Baja Racing buggy to be fully electric. He also enjoys waterskiing, bowling, and spending time with his Australian cattle dog, Brandy. Ryan studied Mechanical Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
